The Faith Student Ministry meets each Wednesday night at 6:30PM in the ATTIC at Faith Baptist Church
Faith Student Minsitries has a Jr. High Minsitry - Teens For Christ (TFC) and a Sr. High Ministry - Radical Uth Serving Him (RUSH)
We also have a teen praise band and drama team. The praise band meets every Wednesday at 5:00PM and the drama team meets every Sunday afternoon at 4:15PM. Come check us out!!!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and Happy New Year. Here is another update for you. I hope you are finding this information useful.
Mission Trip: This Sunday, January 10th at 5:00 is a meeting for all youth, their parents and sponsors going on the mission trip (Garvin, Edwards, Byrnes, Counts, Rigdon, Stracener, Petty, Eanes, Baldwin, Smith, Silvey & Summerhill) or interested in gathering more information about the trip. We will meet in the ATTIC.
Bowling Night: Saturday, January 30th, 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Allfam. The youth fund will pay for one game of bowling and anything else above that is each child's responsibility. Cost per game is $4 and shoes are included. Friends are invited but they will have to pay their own way.
Monthly Teen Worship: This months will be Wednesday night January 20th at 6:30. Remember we will have food for the teens that night so no need to feed them at home. I need two parents who will be responsible for food. Please let me know if you are willing to take care of it this month.
Teen Praise Band: We will now have practices on Wednesdays from 5:00 - 6:00. This Wednesday I will be talking to the current members and anyone who may be interested in becoming a member about the direction we will be going with the band.
Student Lunches: Mark and I will be having lunch at CJHS, Tuesday January 12th. If you child attends this school, please get letters of permission to the office.
Birthdays: Melissa Garvin will be providing cake for a birthday celebration each month. THANKS MELISSA!!! I am now trying to gather everyone's birthday, If you want to email that to me that would really help.
Mid-Winter Banquet: By far the largest and most time consuming event that we do. All money received goes to the youth group and will be applied to upcoming mission trips. Once again, I need parental support for: meal preparation, child care supervision, set-up and clean-up. Please let me know if you are interested in helping out. The event is Saturday, Feb. 13th and tickets will go on sale beginning Sunday, January 17th. The entertainment portion of the event this year will be Mark and Holly Binns.
Monthly Teen Fellowship: Reminder that the 1st Sunday of the month, the teens will meet for supper after evening worship. The next one is Sunday, Feb. 7th. Melissa Garvin, Cindy Summerhill and Lynn Eanes are coordinating these outings. They will also arrange transportation.
Planet Wisdom: In the past we have attended Student Life conferences in Memphis. Student Life no longer does student conferences. However, Youth Specialties hosted a student conference called Planet Wisdom every year (http://www.planetwisdom.com/). This year's event is called "A Walk With Christ To The Cross" and is in Dallas February 19-20. The cost will be $45 per student plus the cost of hotels. In looking at the current state of the youth fund and the fact that this year we now have a church budget line item, we will be able to offset some of the cost. I will determine how much will be offset based on how many sign up. Please let me know if your child is able to attend. I will have a sign-up sheet in the ATTIC beginning this Sunday.
Outreach: Beginning this month, we will be making visit to teens who attend the church but not RUSH or TFC. We will do this 1 Tuesday evening a month. Please encourage your teens to be a part of this. So far I have had one person come to me interested in being a part.
T-Shirts: Youth group t-shirts should be available by the end of the month. I am waiting for the final cost per shirt and I will take size orders beginning next week.
****TEEN WORSHIP SERVICE****
On the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6:30PM there is a Teen Worship service for ALL TEENAGERS. We meet at 6:30PM in the ATTIC and we have food immediately following.
The next one is February 17th in the ATTIC. Plan on attending for an evening of worship with all of the teens.
Planet Wisdom
If you are attending the event, we are meeting at the church at 8:00AM on Feb. 19th. We should return on the 20th around 11:00PM. Money is due Wed. Feb. 10th. Remember you will need money for food Friday and Saturday.

In February 2007 at the Student Life conference in Memphis, TFC adopted a child through Compassion International. This is a wonderful Christian organization through which caring people help meet the needs of children in underdeveloped countries.
